Miracle League Greater New Orleans
“The mission of the Miracle League of Greater New Orleans and the Miracle League North Shore is to promote the health and well-being of children with disabilities, provide opportunities for able-bodied children to learn about and interact with children with disabilities, and develop community awareness and support for the child athlete with disabilities through organized sports leagues. The Miracle League is designed to serve kids who cannot be accommodated by established baseball, basketball and soccer leagues due to the special needs of their disabilities. The vision of the program is to provide any disabled child, regardless of their level of disability, the opportunity to play league sports and enjoy the emotional and physical benefits of being part of a team sport.”Check out the website to register for a sports league. Sports include: baseball (fall and spring), basketball, and soccer for ages 4-17.

Autism Society of Greater New Orleans
The Autism Society of Greater New Orleans offers inclusive events throughout the year, such as: an inclusive Egg Hunt, Halloween Party, and Santa pictures. Check out their calendar for online Caregiver Support Groups (evening groups meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month and the day group meets the 4th Tuesday of each month), as well as online support groups for Autistic Adults (2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month).

The WWII Museum offers sensory friendly mornings every last Saturday of the month (8:00-12:00pm). Tickets are free during the 8:00-9:00am timeframe (use the link below to reserve tickets). Accommodations include: sensory bags (limited number available) with noise cancelling headphones, sunglasses, fidgets, Feeling Zone thermometer; and lanyard. 1 weighted lap pad can also be provided. Website states that the ‘Campaigns of Courage: European and Pacific Theaters’ pavilion in not recommended to those with sensory needs due to abrupt noises, unexpected environment changes, graphic imagery, and overlapping sounds.
